Apparently I have a broken nose, which they missed when they originally checked me, owing to the fact that my neck was their main concern. The doctor is very amused by the fact that, despite this, I STILL do not have much in the way of bruising on my face, though my eye and cheek are a bit puffy. I am amused by the new shape of my nose, which will apparently be permanent, bar the reduction of some swelling in the upper bridge as it heals.

Holy SHIT!!! O_O Um um... wow. I hope you like your new nose? Heh, man, that's crazy! I hope you're not in too much pain! *hugs*

The new nose is definitely growing on me. I have an interesting arch now, in the middle of the bridge. Almost verging on something like a Roman nose. Very cool. 8-D And the pain is tolerable - I'm avoiding the Oxycodone aside from the single tablet I took yesterday so I could sleep, and the 600mg Ibuprofen I only take if I'm expecting to do a lot of physical stuff like work or pack for moving...oh, wait, that's all I do lately. Silly me. XD

Damn. So what's happening to the chick who did this to you?

Psych hospital, and when she's released from there, jail. She's being charged with Felony III Assault.

Are you going to be okay for moving?
In greater detail:
Do you need me to come up there to help out?
Moving, with whiplash, crikey.
I walk away from lj for a week, and see what happens?!?

**huge grin** Wow, that you'd suggest something like that...! ^___^ I'll be fine, but thank you very much for the offer. Whiplash is painful, but not the end of the world. I have some very nice 600mg Ibuprofen if I need it, and (when I don't care if I'm drowsy and dizzy) Oxycodone tablets. I also have local friends who are going to help me haul stuff, if I need it.

My new nose is already growing on me. XD

Only when I chew, or talk, or breath, or bend over (increased blood flow), or change my facial expression, or move my head, or lay down, or walk into a strong breeze. Or touch my nose. XD Other than that, it doesn't hurt at all. ^_~

Really though, it's painful, but not anywhere near some of the stuff I've gone through. And it's kinda eclipsed by watching a guy die last night in the trauma room, spraying blood all over the place, with a saucer-sized hole in his chest from a shotgun. After that, a broken nose seems...pretty inconsequential.

Oh shit, woman! You are one of the toughest most resilient people I've ever met. I kinda like the sound of your new nose, but that's a sucky way to get a nose job. *hugs*

**chuckle** No, the old lady a while back who said her pain was a "4, on a scale of 1-10" while I put pressure on the four inches of tibia sticking out of her leg, to stem the arterial bleed, she was tough and resilient. I just have a very thick skull. And perhaps a mild masochistic streak, considering how much I'm amused by talking to people about my injuries.

Okay, I'm running out of sufficient rude expletives on that one, plus the shotgun death. Krikeys.

WHOA MEGA-STREETCRED X 1000. xD;;; At least you are digging it? Still: OW.

(Also, yikes @ the reply to the comment above. Jesus H Christ. Why do I still sometimes wish I could go to med school? It is a mystery.)

**grin** I'm digging it. It's amusing, though I was pissed as HELL for the first five minutes or so.

Yeah. Last night was not a good night for the ER. We rarely have deaths there - they usually happen elsewhere in the hospital. Last night there were two. A broken neck and a shotgun injury. Not cool. Very strange.

I would totally be pissed as hell too, until I remembered that it would make me look more like Simon. Ah ha ha. 83

Eek. Definitely a bad night. I should really talk to you more about your hospital experiences before I even try to take any premed classes. ^^;

Oh, golly! I'm so sorry! I was off at Y-con with JN and am just catching up on my flist. I do worry about you. You seem so strong, but it just takes one psycho to really mess you up. Take care of yourself and I hope that your "new" nose heals quickly! *hugs*

Thanks for the well-wishing, Kelly! I'm fine, it's not that bad. And I can handle the psychos - she surprised me (and everyone else), is all. We finished restraining her, no problem.

I am just !!!! that you're so calm about this.

I'd have hit that patient back and we'd both be facing charges.

*HUGGLS*

Aw, it seems kinda silly to want to smack a psych patient. Really, I wasn't even mad at her. She's a bitch, but what can you do? The world is full of them. She, at least, has a valid reason - she's batshit crazy.

It's kind of reflexive for me. Comes from having a sister very close in age (although she knows karate now and could totally take me!).
