AHahahahahah-OW!
Apparently I have a broken nose, which they missed when they originally checked me, owing to the fact that my neck was their main concern. The doctor is very amused by the fact that, despite this, I STILL do not have much in the way of bruising on my face, though my eye and cheek are a bit puffy. I am amused by the new shape of my nose, which will apparently be permanent, bar the reduction of some swelling in the upper bridge as it heals.

In greater detail:
Do you need me to come up there to help out?
Moving, with whiplash, crikey.
I walk away from lj for a week, and see what happens?!?

My new nose is already growing on me. XD

Really though, it's painful, but not anywhere near some of the stuff I've gone through. And it's kinda eclipsed by watching a guy die last night in the trauma room, spraying blood all over the place, with a saucer-sized hole in his chest from a shotgun. After that, a broken nose seems...pretty inconsequential.

(Also, yikes @ the reply to the comment above. Jesus H Christ. Why do I still sometimes wish I could go to med school? It is a mystery.)

Yeah. Last night was not a good night for the ER. We rarely have deaths there - they usually happen elsewhere in the hospital. Last night there were two. A broken neck and a shotgun injury. Not cool. Very strange.

Eek. Definitely a bad night. I should really talk to you more about your hospital experiences before I even try to take any premed classes. ^^;

I'd have hit that patient back and we'd both be facing charges.
