So I found myself with some free time, and was able to start on one of those projects I've had on the back burner. Of course, I couldn't possibly be in the mood to do something constructive during...oh, I don't know...the day. **mutter** No, I had to decide to start work at midnight on Christmas Eve.

Ah, who needs sleep, anyway?

Time to completion: about 3.5-4 hours. Materials: Super Sculpey. Tools: my fingers and the tip of a mechanical pencil (Bic, neon green plastic). Based on a sketch I made at work yesterday. Sculpted while laying on my back in my bed with my arms raised above my head (seemed like a good idea at the time, because our house is cold right now and there were blankets...but my biceps and triceps are a bit sore this morning).

I'm rather pleased with the little bastard, especially since I've never, EVER attempted sculpting something even remotely like this before. I mean that literally. I took a ceramics class back in freshman year of high school...I made a couple plates, a lot of bowls, a cookie jar, and a teapot for my mother. That's it.

Three guesses as to what I'm making, and the first two don't count. ^_~

**beams** I'm glad you think so! I actually thought of your art quite a bit when I was sculpting, because I have a lot of admiration for your understanding of animal anatomy (and also how it can combine with human anatomy, in many cases). I'd wondered what your opinion of it would be. ^_^

**sheepish grin** I'm still kinda' figuring the whole thing out. I'd intended to use Aves Apoxie Sculpt to make it, but I was impatient (the Aves shipment hasn't arrived yet) and decided to do a test run in Super Sculpey...and of course, I like how it turned out and don't want to do another one. **snort**

Of course! Only you, Kiya.

*laughs.*I'm just as impatient, so I understand.

Oh don't pout now! You know I understand that. *kisses.* Sheesh, silly. I think it's lovely. And I do understand! I really do. I just hate it when you get started on one thing like that. The tendency is to always like it so much that you never want to change out of it ever again!

I never was good at sculpting, either. I'm trying to figure out where the heck it came from (the apparent semi-ability, I mean).

Thanks! Not quite as symmetrical as it looks, but overall the balance is right. **chuckle** I swear, that was the HARDEST part - making the two sides look even.

O_o

ZOMGWTFBBQ, you SCULPT like a wild beast, if wild beasts could sculpt.

I mean, that is amazing.

**peers**

It looks like...like...

Mr Fontenrose: My nose is *that* big? No way.

**tries to catch glimpse of own nose**

**twirls around**

**falls down**
