Thank you! The kokeshi on the left is my favorite, out of the few I own. The one on the right is the first one I ever got, a gift from a friend when I was in high school, and the one that started my collection.
He's a Seimei head from Aeon of Dive. Artist-production, only ever sold on Y!JA. We don't know for sure, but it's estimated that there may have been between 12 and 20 of them produced. I searched for one for YEARS before getting very, very lucky. And even then, I shelled out $600 for him - most I've ever paid for a single head.
I *love* seeing and learning about rare and beautiful bjds. He is just stunning -- well worth the price (not really much more than a Genji head, for instance) -- how wonderful for you to have him (especially since you hunted for him for years). I hope you'll post lots and lots of pictures.
I kicked myself for years, too. I saw the first couple go up for auction in Y!JA, and fell immediately in love, but at the time, I was still in the "$150+ is just too much to spend on a head" phase of my doll-development, and these guys were going for around $200-300. So I waited, thinking I'd grab one once the New!Doll!Must!Buy surge faded. Only Aeon stopped MAKING them before that happened. So I started hunting. XD
