So, Paramount is being a pain in the ass about this trailer, which was released at Comic-Con. They're threatening to sue anyone who posts it online for copyright infringement, because they've not yet released it online themselves.

Thankfully, the Russians don't really give a damn.

Full-length Thor trailer viewable here.

Fuck yes.

Yes! Thor has his own comics, and is also one of the members of the Justice League, along with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Iron Man, Captain America, etc. My understanding is that they (the movie producers and DC comics) intend to make bunches of these "origin" movies, and then have them all join together in one or more Justice League movies. Hence the reference to Stark (Iron Man/Tony Stark) near the end, right before the FBI-looking guys get blown away by the robot. A Green Lantern movie (starring Ryan Reynolds, which kind of messes with my head) is also currently in the works.

Of course, DC's Thor is based on the Norse god of the same name, and many of the deities from Norse mythology (Odin, Loki, Freya, etc) appear in his storyline in one form or another. But this does not mean that the comic version of Thor is true to the Norse pantheon version.

I LOVE their casting choice for him. (I would hit that like a freight train experiencing catastrophic brake failure.)

*snorks*

I actually thought he looked a little odd with the beard.. though I admit he did bulk up quite nicely after driving the Kelvin through a Romulan mining ship..

Wow -- really? I had/have about zero knowledge of the Thor comic, to be honest.. I was really only interested in this because he's going to be in the Justice League or Avengers or whatever they're building up to with all the origin stories o,0

It does look awesome, I'd be right there cheering you on about the brake failure (hey, I bet we can't afford him once this gig in in theaters, but I'd love to cast him for Drin later on, thankyew!) and why opn earth didn't Paramount followup on the Comicon buzz with a release of the trailer IMMEDIATELY?!? Marketing fail!
