Life is Busy

I have to write a paper for workshopping on Monday in my Critical Theory class. I'm still deciding on a topic. I am very glad I don't work Sunday night.
I have to prepare a 'researched scene/setting' (not going to be hard) for submission on Monday in my Short Story class.
I have to do something for my novel class, and I can't remember what. For Monday. Must check on that on Blackboard.
One of the doctors who works night shift in the ER, someone I know fairly well after working with him frequently since July, is dying right now up in ICU. He got in an accident while ocean kayaking the day before yesterday. People are very upset about this, and tensions at work are running high. It's strange to have (from the perspective of the RN's and ER Techs, especially) your boss roll in as a Trauma Code. Even stranger to have ER staff crying on your shoulder.
I need to get ready to head down to SF/LA on Tuesday morning. I so need this vacation.
NaNo is not going well. I am approximately 12,000 words behind where I want to be right now. Damnit. Still doable, but...frustrating.
In other news, Hwa-Lan is pretty much PWNING me. I kinda knew he would, when I saw the initial 'working' pictures, but it definitely looks right now like I'll be getting a couple when they're released. Figures.
