HP: Order of the Phoenix

( Warning - Harry Potter Movie musings. No real spoilers (especially if you've read the book), but if you don't like those kinds of things, don't read. )
In other news, the preview for the movie adaptation of Pullman's first "His Dark Materials" book, The Golden Compass, had me literally squirming in my seat with anticipation. Unlike the preview for the movie adaptation of S. Cooper's The Dark is Rising (Sequence? First book? Combination of several books but not the complete series? This wasn't clear.), which had me wincing and wishing I hadn't looked. It appears they completely drop all of the Arthurian legend, combine things willy-nilly, have Will caught shoplifting or some shit, and give him a romantic interest to conform to modern moviegoers' desires. Please, someone shoot me. And that's completely aside from setting it in the wrong time period and location (not 100% sure about the location, but those people didn't SOUND like they were from the British Isles at all).
