Periorbital Hematoma

Yes, that's right, ladies and gentlemen. I have just received what is fast shaping up to be my first black eye (it's a bit startling that I've never had one before, but I've generally been good at deflecting things), courtesy of an angry patient brought in by the local police department. She kicked (with her right foot) the left side of my face, smack over my eye and the bridge of my nose, as I was restraining her left foot. Hit me hard enough that she knocked me back into the wall.

Felony 3 assault. She's such an idiot. Damn, my neck and head hurt. Jesus. One of the ER docs keeps shining a penlight in my eyes and making noises about having me check in as a patient. I told him I wanted to wait and see if it was really necessary (even though L&I will cover all associated costs). I'm dizzy, having trouble typing. We'll see how I feel at the end of the shift.

I'm doing fine, but sadly, there is no black eye, and lots of whiplash (I would much rather the black eye, seriously). I've just slept for a whole 7 hours, and will probably get a bit more before I actually head to work in 4 hours. I have been drinking plenty of liquids, and...all the usual stuff you do for a head cold, which I figure can't hurt here. ^_~

Errrggh, yeah, sadly no street cred for whiplash. ;3 I hope you got more sleep and were feeling ok at work.<3

My street cred has just returned - I have a broken nose. XD
