Why I WON'T Be Doing Rafe's Faceup Myself

Has anyone else observed that productivity comes in spurts? I don't post in here for weeks, and then BAM! Posts galore over the course of only a couple days. Amusing little phenomenon, don't you think? I've noticed it in other people, too. Hm.

Anyway, on to the subject of this post; My attempt at Rafe. Evidence of WHY I will not be doing his faceup myself (for some reason, I am incapable of lips that do not look as if they have lipstick on). Ah well. We all have our strengths. This just isn't one of mine.









As you can see, I was playing with lighting a bit in those second two. I'm starting to experiment with that, since up until now I've done the same thing with every photo. I experimented a bit in that Hunter one a couple posts back, too. I like how these experiments are turning out.



Oh, and...er...that Dark Mark on his arm is totally temporary, from when I had him cosplay Young!Snape for the final book release on 7/21/07. ^_^;; Just haven't gotten around to stripping it off as of yet.

I can definitely see what you were going for ;3. He's still damn cool. If I didn't suck at faceups, I'd offer to give it a shot. Buuuut I really suck at faceups. ^^;

LOL I'm the same way with posting on lj.....I go forever sometimes posting, but sometimes I'll post 2-3 times in only a few hours.

I love his scars~! As for the lips...I find blushing them with pastels little bit at a time is best way for natural lips, using peach and natural browns.

Actually, I love the somewhat darker mouth. It provides a strong contrast to the scars. I'd use the word pretty, except for the part where I'd be forced to eat my words, and probably my entrails.

Also, lighting is splendid. I esp. like the center picture's chiarscuro.
