I'm not sure yet how well the surgery recovery is progressing. Pain has lessened some, which is good. Stiches are presumably doing what they are supposed to do, but there is still bleeding at this point. No signs of infection, which is good. I did have an allergic reaction to the bandaging, so I have a nasty rash, which sucks and itches, but which will eventually pass. Post-op exam is tomorrow, so I'll have a better idea of the big picture then.
Things do indeed pile up. Moving date is the weekend after this one (September 18th). This weekend is James' birthday (September 11th). His present is expected to be delivered tomorrow. I got him sequential tail lights for his Mustang (I don't know - I don't get car stuff, but he had mentioned a while ago that he wanted them but couldn't spare the cash, since they're pretty pricey). I hope I got the right ones.
We have talked about marriage. Not, like, let's-get-married-soon type of talk, but general agreement that it's something we are both in favor of doing, sometime in the future. I never expected to want to get married. I have always been quite critical of the institution of marriage. Apparently I now get to eat my hat. James was talking about taking my last name. I think we should hyphenate, because his last name is really cool, but I don't want to give my surname up. I think he liked that idea.
We've also talked about kids. Current thoughts: 0-2. Yes, I know, more hat-eating.
Pehaps awkwardly, his father and mother do not know that I am moving in. They are LDS (he is not), and his mother is recovering from major surgery and prone to depression. We don't want to send her spiraling down into an abyss of sadness because her only son is going to be living in sin, so we haven't told them. His sisters know, of course, and are in full support of the idea.
