Rupali - Now With 80% More Face!!

Rupali has returned from her visit to Lyn Raftis, and is definitely rocking her new faceup. I'm in love with this. Lyn took my sketchy "I kinda' want her to look professional, but also casual, and I want her lips red but not too red, more like reddish, and her eyebrows black and nice, but really just do whatever you want" and turned it into EXACTLY what I wanted. She's a miracle worker, really. And just in time for me to get my gal all put back together again and ensconced safely in the WUNPO-crew doll cabinet before I go under the knife next week. DOUBLE WIN!



I do apologize for the crappy photo. I snapped it quickly at work, and the lighting here sucks. (Also, I think I will get a new camera this year. My point-and-shoot just...isn't cutting it anymore.)

She does great stuff, doesn't she? I'm really happy. She and SDink both fall into the "I want to own at least one doll painted by each of them" category. (So did Avvelenato, back in the day. But she disappeared, so that's a bust.)

And of course I *really* wouldn't mind if all my crew got painted up, divvied up any which way they like, between them. They're in trouble if we ever win the lottery, just sayin'.
OTP slightly, I've been mulling over heads for the athletic girl, and probably the simplest would be to just get an Iple girl head and call it good enough.
But, dayum, I am *so* tempted by the SOOM Jackal head. Wouldn't that hybrid be a total blast?

It would be! But it would need a lot of work. Mega Gem males, like the EID guys, can't share heads with other dolls - their neck is HUGE. And this body is only going to have a 10cm neck.

Plus it'd probably look totally out of scale to proportions such as the width of the shoulders, darn it.

Keep us posted on what you decide re: camera. Now that I'm actually mounting photostories on Atsidi, at last, I'm really beginning to feel the age and limitations of my antique Digital Elph.

WUNPO cabinet FTW indeed! I have four separate doll cabinets now (though one is quite small, and only holds a few dolls).

Testimony thing was a mess and a half. On Friday (February 11th), I had to reschedule my pre-op appointment (was set for 10:30 am on Monday, February 14th) for 9:00 am on Tuesday the 15th, because on Thursday evening (the 10th) I was served with a subpoena to appear as a witness in an assault case (work-related) at 9:00 am on the 14th. So I get the exam appointment moved, which is a pain in the ass on such short notice, and get my best suit ready and everything, only to end up NOT TESTIFYING because the defense attorney asked for a continuance and the judge granted it. So it looks like I'll have to testify on April 4th instead.

Re: Camera, I've been looking at the newest Canon Digital Rebel, the T2i. It has very good performance reviews in a lot of areas, and outstrips almost every other camera available at that same price point. Plus I'm familiar with Canon's control setup, and like it. The biggest complaint most reviewers have about it is that the body is small(er than a pricier DSLR) so their hands feel a bit cramped for space, but I have stupidly small hands so that's not really a concern for me. It's also about $400 more than I've ever spent on a camera so I'm hesitant to make that plunge. Maybe in June or July or something...

You will not regret the camera. Not one bit. If it feels too small, you can get an external battery grip which extends it, adds another shutter option, and (obviously) increases your battery power.

You think? I think part of my hesitation stems from the fact that I feel like my photography skills won't do this beast of a machine justice. I imagine that I'm not likely to get worse, though. I guess I know what I'm saving up for after May.
