Another short scene, written in that same fiction class almost two years ago. The assignment was to show an antagonistic character, then transition to another character and show the first one through the viewpoint of the second one. Main character is Rafe.

A short scene, written in a fiction class almost two years ago. The assignment was to...well, honestly, I don't even remember. I think it might have had something to do with deception, or with a character acting in a manner contrary to their normal behavior pattern, but I'm not sure. I don't think I've posted it on here before, and I came across it while rummaging through old folders, so here you go. Main character is Rafe.

As per the post in which I asked for prompts involving other people's characters, here's another very late response. I'm sure it's not what you had in mind, GJ, but...well, I had fun. ^_~

The assignment from [livejournal.com profile] greenjudy: Ira. The Prospect of a Car (red). Echoes of Uncle Arved (take however you like). Girls. Eric Tseng's private study.

For the car, I chose an Aston Martin. (And yes, I did have to look up the key design, because I'm anal that way.) I apologize if that is not an appropriate option, GJ, but it worked well for the direction I decided to take.

Because supermodels are going to be all over a seventeen-year-old in a £170,000 sports car. )

Author's Notes: Any and all criticism and comments welcomed, as always.

It’s all rather anticlimactic. )

A while back (read: ages ago) I asked for prompts about YOUR characters, so I could do some exploratory writing and stretch myself a bit. And I got lots of wonderful responses, and then never finished any of them. Because I am lame like that.

I'm trying my hand at tackling them again. So, without further ado, here is the beginning of the drabble-response for [livejournal.com profile] doll_paparazzi's request. [Christian, Trent, and Apollo (and the rest of the Loft) dealing with an injured Darryl (and vice-versa). Trent hitting on Darryl. Possible side-order of smut.]

(As a bit of background and to hopefully head off any confusion, this is Darryl before he was Darryl, back when he was still property of Zymogenetics and got "deployed" on missions by them with completely false identities and underlying programming that he himself wasn't aware of. And for information on Mercy's characters in this, check out The Loft, specifically the Time Knights photocomic series.)

Written for the [livejournal.com profile] bjd_30minfic writing challenge/prompt "shadow," after the [livejournal.com profile] vita_ersatz photo challenge/prompt "underwear" resulted in the following pictures of Wren in the Procedural Care Unit at the hospital where I work.

Another bit of snake crossover. This one's NSFW.

Some follow up to [livejournal.com profile] nagasvoice's A Lesson in Improv, and [livejournal.com profile] greenjudy's Keys, which followed my Dust & Ichor, all of which are a part of the developing The Principle of Moments storyline(s). These will (hopefully soon) all be hosted on the Principle of Moments site.

Will possibly be out of contact for day or two, depending on my ability to find wifi in Leavenworth. Wish me luck.

Another foray into the world of [livejournal.com profile] nagasvoice's bug wars. For more of this, see Naga's and [livejournal.com profile] greenjudy's journals, as well as my posts that I've tagged as snake crossover.

Hope I'm not taking too many liberties here, [livejournal.com profile] nagasvoice. It just seemed the perfect place and time for the two groups to intersect.

This is the phone the bug’s calling card was used to reach. Doesn’t look like much. All the soft hairs on Wren’s arms are standing up. )

There probably won't be a Satyr Crack installment today, because I'm playing around with this snake crossover idea instead. Hopefully I'll be in a satyr mood tonight at work, and will get some writing done during my break.

Also, I, uh, got the apartment. I move in on October 1st, when it's been vacated by the current tenants and cleaned. Already signed the lease and put the first $200 of my deposit down as a holding fee.

Again, for more information on what this bit of writing is about, see the journals of [livejournal.com profile] nagasvoice and [livejournal.com profile] greenjudy, and also the things I've tagged with snake crossover.

Bowed down to temptation. Joining in here with [livejournal.com profile] nagasvoice and [livejournal.com profile] greenjudy in exploring the bug-infested potential world they've created. For some idea of what the HELL this is all about, check out their journals (under the tag "snake crossover" in GJ's, and all OVER the place in Naga's).

Written in response (WAY late) to the Week #29 challenge/prompt on Resinality's ABJD Writing usergroup. Prompt was the following quote:

"I know indeed what evil I intend to do, but stronger than all my afterthoughts is my fury, fury that brings upon mortals the greatest evils."
– Euripides (484-406 BC), Medea, 431 BC

A piece of writing that follows directly after 聯盟 [lián méng], set in Ming Jian Yuan's point of view. This is a bit of an exercise on my part, as I've not written much in Jian's POV before now, because of the fact that The Machiavelli Protocol as I had it planned up until now was told almost entirely in Wren's POV. So while I'll probably never use this in the novel, it was a good experiment for me, and I enjoyed it. I wrote this by hand (which I NEVER do) in a little notebook I've been carrying around with me at work and school.

The Precipice )

And for those waiting on them, I am working on the prompt responses. ^_^ Gleefully. I still need a bit more info from some of you before I can begin yours, though.

Written in response to the Week #24 challenge/prompt on Resinality's ABJD Writing usergroup. Prompt was "the fondest memory." A bit longer this time around, more up to my usual length. Inspired also by a recent experience of my own at the hospital (I owe one of my fellow officers for the fact that I can still type and my arm is not in a cast right now - it took nine people to subdue the patient in that instance, and I really wish the cop had thought to use his taser, rather than holding onto the guy's other arm along with two other people and leaving me to deal with the left arm all on my own).

Jealousy

kiyakotari: (pic#586172)
Written in response to the Week #22 challenge/prompt on Resinality's ABJD Writing usergroup. Prompt was Michael Langley's poem, "Rune" (shown below). A bit late in posting it, sorry. I'm behind in transferring things from other places to here, so expect to see quite a bit of writing from me over the next week or so.

Poems in the palm of the hand, life-line,
Fingers tapping the ridge of the shin-bone,
The bridge of the nose, fingerprints, breath;
Then the silvery skin of the lifeless,
Ivy increasing the secrets, the answers--
The physician's power in cold dwellings,
Candles behind this veil of synonyms,
A blind man's lovely wife and signature.

Written in response to the Week #21 challenge/prompt on Resinality's ABJD Writing usergroup. Prompt was "surprise." Another short one. I'm not sure how I feel about this. The tone seems a bit...off. Thoughts?
